Fitness Worx > Facility Guidelines

Facility Guidelines

We are especially concerned about your safety, enjoyment and comfort in our gym; therefore, the following policies and procedures are in place to provide you with a quality exercise environment.

General Guidelines:

Please remember to check in at the front desk every time you come in.
• A $30 service fee will be charged for returned checks or drafts,
• Please be courteous to other members and the staff. Inappropriate behavior may result in membership suspension or termination.
• Profanity is not allowed in the facility.
• Smoking or chewing tobacco is not allowed in the facility.
• No refunds will be given for merchandise purchased to the pro-shop.  Items may be exchanged or credit given to use at another time.
• Members must be out of the facility by closing time; the facility’s insurance does not cover members outside regular business hours.

Cardiovascular and Strength Training Areas:
• Please be courteous at all times allowing other members to “work in” during your rest periods.
• If you are unfamiliar with the use of any equipment, or need any other guidance, please ASK A STAFF MEMBER FOR ASSISTANCE.  All staff members are here to ensure your safety and enjoyment, and are here to assist you.
• Keep hands and feet away from all moving parts and weight stacks.
• Please report any equipment problems immediately to the staff.  Do not attempt to repair or adjust any equipment that appears to have malfunctioned.
• Please rack all weights and dumbbells after each use.
• Please wipe off equipment and benches after use.
• Yelling and loud grunting during lifting is not allowed.
• Members must always use a spotter when attempting maximum weight---ask for staff assistance if needed.
• Please use collars or clips on all bars at all times.
• To avoid injury and help maintain quality of the equipment, please do not drop or slam down weights.
• Please help us keep our club clean by disposing of your trash, bottles and gum in the receptacles provided.

Clothing and Hygiene:
• Proper workout attire is required at all times. Shorts, sweatpants, T-shirts, sweatshirts, tank tops and spandex accessories deemed appropriate by management should be worn.
• Appropriate athletic shoes only. For your safety, no street shoes, boots or sandals are allowed in the workout areas.
• Clean workout clothing is required. The staff will address any unsatisfactory visible hygiene condition; corrective action may be requested.
• Non-workout clothing, shoes and gym bags must be kept in lockers. Please leave all valuables at home. The club is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
• Please avoid heavy perfume and cologne.
• Belt buckles, blue jeans and loose jewelry items can not be worn in the workout area. These items may damage the equipment or cause you injury.

Group Exercise and Aerobics Room:
• Aerobic classes, arthritis and most other group exercise classes are included in the monthly membership fee.
• Group exercise class schedules will be posted and available at the front desk. Group exercise class schedules are subject to change and not guaranteed. If you would like to see a particular exercise class not offered at a particular time, please let the staff know.
• All aerobic instructors are certified.
• Proper aerobic footwear is mandatory at all times in the aerobic room to prevent damage to the special aerobic floor.

Food and Beverages:
• Plastic bottled drinks are allowed anywhere in the club. Glass bottles are not allowed for safety reasons.

Three Strikes and You’re Out!

• We are especially concerned about safety in the facility. Members who violate any of the above safety policies and procedures will first receive a verbal warning. The management reserves the right to file an incident report about the violation.
• Members receiving three incident reports will have their memberships terminated. No refunds will be given.

Personal and Instructional Training:
• All new members are entitled to two free instructional sessions with their membership. If more than two sessions are needed, members should feel free, and are encouraged, to talk to any staff member about additional assistance. An exercise program will be successful only if you have a good understanding of the equipment available and how to use it best for your benefit and safety. Please tell us what you need.
• Personal training by certified trainers is also available on a one-on-one or group basis by appointment.

Guests:
• Area residents with valid ID may receive a temporary trial of the facility if desired. Each resident may not have, more than 1 trial period per year.
• You may give a free one-day guest pass to anyone who is at least 14 years old and has not used a pass within the last 6 months. Guests between the ages of 14-18 must have written parental approval.
• The day rate for guests is $7.00.

Children:
• Child care is not offered in our facility; for that reason, children under the age of 14 shall not be allowed in any workout area, or to become members, unless receiving personal training with their parents consent or are accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children that are 13 years old may workout, but must have an adult or personal trainer working directly with them. Children under 13 must work with a personal trainer directly.
• Young adults between the ages of 14-18 are welcome as members and are expected to follow the same policies and procedures as our adult members; however, a parent or guardian signature is required on membership application.
